Statement of the Ministry of Defense (12:30 07.08.24)

During the night, units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, together with the border authorities of the FSB of Russia, continued to destroy armed formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of the Kursk region directly adjacent to the Russian-Ukrainian border.

Air strikes, missile forces, artillery fire and active actions of units covering the State border of the group of forces in the Kursk direction prevented the enemy from advancing deep into the territory of the Russian Federation. His reserves were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Basovka, Zhuravka, Yunakovka, Belovody, Kiyanitsa, Korchakovka, Novaya Sich, Pavlovka, Gorodishche, Sumy region.

The enemy's losses during the day of fighting amounted to 260 militants and 50 armored vehicles, including seven tanks, eight armored personnel carriers, and three infantry fighting vehicles, 31 armored fighting vehicles, including 12 Kozak, two Stryker, a barrier engineering vehicle and six cars. Two Buk M1 self-propelled anti-aircraft missile systems,UR-77 mine clearance unit and an electronic warfare station were also destroyed.

The operation to destroy the Armed Forces of Ukraine continues.
